We're seeking a highly capableSupply Chain Managerto lead and shape our national logistics operations and procurement strategy. This is a key leadership role overseeing 6 warehouses, procurement and logistics staff in Cairns and Melbourne, and managing relationships and contracts with our 3PL partners and suppliers.
This role will suit someone who thrives in a smaller environment, enjoys working closely with small teams, and takes a hands-on approach. It may not be suitable for individuals accustomed to large, office-based teams with primarily high-level responsibilities. The role requires active involvement, adaptability, collaboration, and contribution to broader strategic initiatives. Travel will be required as needed.
You will be responsible for ensuring efficient, accurate and cost-effective stock storage, despatch and delivery, meeting customer expectations across Australia and New Zealand. The role also includes supplier negotiation, inventory management, improving processes, managing stocktakes, reporting on metrics and KPI's, budget management and the development of high-performing logistics and warehouse teams. Selection Criteria:
Hands on experience and in-depth knowledge of the logistics industry, including freight operations and platforms, warehousing, pick and pack operations, and procurement or merchandising
Knowledge of budgets and relevant P&L; experience
Sound understanding of the selecting, pricing and positioning of products and management principles
Demonstrated past achievement in academic, personal or professional endeavours
Demonstrated experience in implementing significant changes in business processes
Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
Excellent computer skills (being highly proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel)
Willing to travel as needed to support relationship management & operation requirements
A current driver's licence is essential.
