The CSA Mine is located 11 kilometres north-west of Cobar, central western New South Wales. At 1.9 kilometres deep, it is one of Australia’s deepest underground mines and is Australia’s highest-grade copper mine.

Harmony is the largest gold producer by volume in South Africa and is a significant operator of gold tailings retreatment facilities. CSA Mine has recently joined Harmony Australasia, marking the beginning of an exciting new chapter. The acquisition underpins Harmony’s strategy to expand its Australasian footprint and establish a strong, diversified copper portfolio, complemented by the Eva Copper Mine Project in Queensland, currently under construction, and set to become the state’s largest open‑pit copper mine upon commissioning. In Papua New Guinea, Harmony owns and operates the Hidden Valley mine and owns 50% of the Tier 1 Wafi-Golpu copper-gold project. These assets are supported by the Harmony Australasia regional corporate office located in Milton, Brisbane.

Reporting to theSenior Strategic Planning Engineer, theMedium-Term Planning Engineer plays a critical role in driving and influencing the mine plan to achieve the operations medium to long term targets. You will play an integral part in ensuring the medium-long range forecasts are effectively derisked and stabilised resulting in improved production and safety.

Roster:

This role will be based onsite in Cobar, NSW working an 8/6 days FIFO roster from Brisbane or Sydney with local candidates highly regarded.

Key Responsibilities:

- Manage and produce the 3 monthly rolling schedules & 12-month forecasts in line with the annual budget requirements and escalated appropriately where risks to the plan arise.




- Effectively communicate the 3MRS & 12-month rolling forecasts to key site stakeholders and leadership team on a fortnightly basis
- Work within a 3-36-month timeframe to develop considered, optimised and practical medium-term designs for development (Operational and Capital) and stopes.
- Provide guidance to the short-term scheduling team where required, to ensure that the weekly plan is aligned to the 3MRS and moreover, the yearly budget.
- Liaise with required stakeholders to deliver achievable and practical plans & designs.

About You:

To be successful, you will bring the following skills, experience and personal attributes:

- Tertiary qualifications in Mining Engineering or related field.
- 5+ years’ underground hard rock experience in mine design/planning and scheduling essential (Experience in ventilation well regarded)
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively with operational and contractor teams.
- Experience using mine planning software - Deswik IS, Sched & CAD.
- Flexible and capable of adapting to a dynamic work environment.
