About Us?

The Institute for Urban Indigenous Health Ltd was established by its founding members to provide a coordinated/integrated approach to the planning, development and delivery of comprehensive primary health care services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander populations within the Southeast Qld Region.

The Deadly Choices Program Development team supports the objective of the Deadly Choices program, to empower Aboriginal and Islander Torres Strait Islander people to make healthy choices for themselves and their families.

About the Role?

As Deadly Choices Program Development Officer, your role in The Program Development team is responsible for leadership in the ongoing development and review of the content, state-wide application, and delivery of Deadly Choices programs to ensure the integrity, quality and effectiveness of program brand, implementation and outcomes.

Your day to day duties may include:

- Support program implementation and address issues as they arise through training, development, and evaluation.
- Monitor and review program delivery, content, systems, processes and outcomes, to inform continuous quality improvement.
- Support review, development and implementation of DC smoke and vape activity, training and support.




- Conduct regular site visits to support the piloting of program content and understand the needs of program content when undertaking review.

About You?

To perform this role, it is essential that the incumbent is an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person. It is therefore a genuine occupational requirement under section 25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991

- Current Criminal History Check.
- Current C Class Drivers Licence (QLD).
- Current Working with Children's Check (Qld Blue Card).
- Ability to work on weekends and after-hours.
- Ability to travel extensively within South East Queensland and as required, across the state.

Desirable, but not mandatory:

- Demonstrated experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and /or communities
