The School Leadership Institute (SLI) is a dedicated unit within the Department. The driving philosophy of the SLI sits within our Vision and Mission Statements. Ourvisionis to enhance the capabilities of all educational leaders in NSW public schools, so they have the greatest impact on teacher and student learning. Ourmissionis to provide world-class, evidence-informed, future-focused leadership development programs and resources to support school leaders at every stage of their career.
The School Leadership Institute has responsibility to design and deliver programs, resources, and initiatives to support leadership development for school leaders at all stages of their career. This will enable us to build school leadership capacity across the NSW public school system.
About the position
The Leadership Advisor works within a team to develop, deliver and support leadership induction and development programs, initiatives and resources that cultivate the development of leaders in NSW public schools at each stage of their career. Evidence-informed research,
focused on improving educational leadership to improve teaching quality and student outcomes is a key feature of the role.
This role offers flexible working arrangements in line with Department policy, with an expectation of working two days per week from the State Office in Parramatta and three days per week from home.
Additionally, the role also requires occasional overnight stays in Parramatta to support and attend the School Leadership Institute's face-to-face professional learning events.

The 2017 transitional arrangement for the recruitment of Non-School Based Teaching Service positions, for all Senior Education Officer 1 (SEO1) and Senior Education 2 (SEO2) positions across the Department have ceased.
