About the role

We are seeking a Sales Team Member to join our retail team at our Fyshwick location in Canberra. This is a part-time position that offers flexibility whilst maintaining operational excellence. As a Sales Team Member, you will be the face of Lounge Lovers, delivering exceptional customer service and driving sales through product knowledge, engagement, and professional advice. You will play a vital role in creating a welcoming shopping environment and helping customers discover the perfect furniture and loungewear solutions for their needs. This position is essential to our store's success and directly impacts customer satisfaction and revenue generation.

Key responsibilities

- Greet customers warmly and assess their needs to provide personalised product recommendations
- Demonstrate product features, benefits, and quality to customers, emphasising value and suitability
- Assist customers throughout the sales process, answering questions and addressing concerns professionally
- Process transactions accurately using point-of-sale systems and handle cash and card payments
- Maintain an organised, clean, and visually appealing sales floor and showroom display
- Build and maintain positive customer relationships to encourage repeat business and referrals




- Stay informed about current product inventory, pricing, promotions, and new arrivals
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth daily operations and excellent customer experiences
- Meet sales targets and contribute to the team's overall performance goals

What we're looking for

- Proven experience in retail sales or a customer-facing sales role, preferably in furniture, home furnishings, or related sectors
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage customers at all levels
- Excellent listening skills and the ability to identify and meet customer needs effectively
- Reliable, organised, and detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- A passion for sales and a genuine enthusiasm for helping customers find solutions
- Proficiency with point-of-sale systems and general computer literacy
- Ability to work flexibly as part of a part-time schedule, including potential weekend availability
- Professional appearance and a positive, customer-focused attitude
- Previous experience in the furniture or loungewear industry is highly desirable
- Demonstrated ability to achieve and exceed sales targets
