Youth Off The Streets is a not‑for‑profit organisation supporting young people to build safer, healthier futures. For 30 years, our special assistance schools have provided flexible education for students who don’t thrive in mainstream settings.
Established in 2007, EDEN College was created to continue the work of Youth Off TheStreets in theMacquarie Fieldscommunity.Today the college is acoeducational independent school supporting students inYears9–12.
Our school programs aim to empower young people with learning strategies to make informed decisions towards creating a positive future.
About the Role
This unique role is located at our independent high school in Macquarie Fields on a fulltime basis.
Working closely with teaching staff, this role provides targeted learning support to students requiring additional assistance across classroom, small group and one-to-one settings. The position plays a key role in supporting student engagement, participation and learning outcomes.
Experience, Skills and Abilities
- The ability to support students with additional learning needs in classroom, small group and one‑to‑one settings
- Capacity to work collaboratively with teachers, families and external agencies to support student learning and engagement
- An understanding of child safe organisation principles, including mandatory child protection responsibilities
- Strong interpersonal, communication and organisational skills
- A warm, approachable manner and ability to build positive relationships with students
- Confidence using IT systems and digital tools
- A relevant tertiary qualification, such as Certificate III (or above) in Education Support and/or English as an Additional Language or Dialect (EAL/D), or equivalent relevant experience
