The key duties of the position include:

The Education and Outreach Team plays a critical role in supporting NACC’s corruption prevention and education objectives. The team designs, delivers and evaluates high-quality education, engagement and outreach activities that build integrity capability across the Commonwealth public sector.

As Assistant Director, Outreach, you will lead the Commission’s stakeholder engagement function, overseeing the planning, delivery and continuous improvement of a national program of outreach and engagement activities. You will manage a small team and provide leadership, direction and coaching to deliver high-quality engagement initiatives that strengthen and enhance the Commission’s reach and impact.

Working closely with internal subject matter experts, senior executives and external stakeholders, you will develop and maintain strategic partnerships, identify emerging stakeholder needs and opportunities, and ensure engagement activities support the Commission’s strategic priorities.

This role requires strong leadership, stakeholder management and project delivery skills, together with sound judgement and the ability to operate effectively in a dynamic environment. You will contribute to the Commission’s strategic direction by providing high-quality advice to senior leaders, identifying opportunities to improve stakeholder engagement approaches and fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation and continuous improvement. You will also contribute to the broader leadership and capability of the MCCPE Branch.





Occasional interstate travel may be required.

Duties

The successful candidate will work under broad direction and exercise a high degree of independence and judgement.

Key activities of this position include:

- Lead the Commission’s stakeholder engagement function and oversee the planning, coordination and delivery of a strategic program of outreach and engagement activities.
- Lead, develop and manage a high-performing team, including setting priorities, allocating work, coaching performance and supporting professional development.
- Develop and implement stakeholder engagement strategies that build, maintain and strengthen productive relationships with Commonwealth entities, integrity partners and other key stakeholders.
- Provide strategic advice to Directors, Senior Executives and Statutory Officer Holders on stakeholder engagement opportunities, risks and emerging issues.
- Lead the planning and delivery of meetings, forums, workshops, events and other engagement activities, including logistics, communications and stakeholder management.
- Oversee the development of high-quality correspondence, briefing materials, reports, presentations and stakeholder correspondence.
- Monitor, evaluate and report on the effectiveness of stakeholder engagement activities, using data and insights to drive continuous improvement.
- Lead cross-functional projects and initiatives, managing resources, risks, timelines and competing priorities to deliver high-quality outcomes.
- Represent the NACC at meetings, forums, conferences and stakeholder events as required.
- Mentor and support team members, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, continuous improvement and professional excellence.
- Contribute to branch planning, governance, reporting and broader organisational priorities.

The NACC is a small agency. In addition to these activities, from time to time you may be asked to undertake tasks that are outside your usual span of duties but that are within the range of your capabilities.

Eligibility

Employment with the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) is subject to the following conditions:

Citizenship – Applicants must be an Australian Citizen.

Security Clearance – This is a Designated Security Assessment Position (DSAP). The occupant of this position must obtain and retain an AGSVA security clearance to the specified level.

Suitability assessment – The NACC must be satisfied that successful applicants are of suitable character. They must undergo a rigorous pre-employment suitability screening process that can be intrusive in nature including (but not limited to) detailed background, character, employment, police, and financial checks.

Probation - A probation period will apply to any new ongoing engagement to the Australian Public Service.

The NACC provides a service allowance of $2,039 per annum (pro-rata for part-time) to non-SES employees which acknowledges the special requirements of working at the NACC. This includes the need for high-level personal security assessments, the intrusion associated with notifying private financial and social interests and the necessity to engage in practices to prevent targeting by unlawful elements.
