The Opportunity to Join the Blend
Based at our Wetherill Park site and reporting to the Quality Systems Lead, we are looking for a seasoned Quality Assurance Coordinator to join our well-established team and support in championing a strong food safety and continuous improvement culture.
This role is responsible for developing, maintaining, and continuously improving food safety and quality systems to ensure products are manufactured safely, legally, and consistently in line with customer specifications, regulatory requirements, certification standards, and company policies.
The position supports manufacturing operations through quality assurance activities, including monitoring, verification, investigation, auditing, non-conformance management, corrective and preventive actions, and continuous improvement initiatives. The role also promotes a strong quality culture, drives compliance across Australia and New Zealand, and contributes to customer satisfaction and consumer protection.
Your role in the mix
Lead, maintain, and continuously improve the Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure compliance with regulatory, customer, and certification requirements, including BRCGS standards.
Develop, implement, and maintain food safety and quality programs, ensuring effective microbiological, chemical, physical, and allergen controls.
Drive audit readiness and coordinate internal, external, customer, and third-party audits, ensuring timely completion of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
Lead investigations into non-conformances, food safety incidents, customer complaints, and quality issues, conducting root cause analysis and implementing effective corrective actions.
Analyse quality performance and KPI trends, identifying and implementing continuous improvement opportunities to enhance product quality, reduce waste and rework, and improve customer satisfaction.
Deliver training, guidance, and coaching on food safety, quality standards, GMP, hygiene, and regulatory requirements to build capability across the site.
Partner with Operations and other stakeholders to promote a strong food safety and quality culture, fostering accountability, compliance, and continuous improvement throughout the manufacturing operation.
You are hands-on, detail-oriented and enjoy working collaboratively to solve problems and improve processes and will have a passion for quality and food safety.
What You'll Bring to the Blend
Relevant qualification in food science or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
Minimum 5 years' experience in quality systems, regulatory compliance, quality assurance or food safety, ideally within a food manufacturing setting
Confident using Microsoft Suite products and web-based platforms.
High attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to work to tight deadlines without compromising accuracy.
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to report findings and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with a solutions-oriented mindset that balances internal and external stakeholder needs.
Excellent time management and organisational skills, with a track record of managing competing priorities.
