We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Project Engineer to join our engineering team. This role is responsible for planning, coordinating and delivering engineering projects from concept through to completion. The successful applicant will work closely with clients, suppliers, contractors and internal teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget.
A key requirement of this role is proficiency in AutoCAD to produce and modify tank and machinery layouts, plant designs and engineering drawings.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and prepare tank, machinery and plant layouts using AutoCAD.
- Develop engineering drawings, general arrangements and fabrication details.
- Manage multiple engineering projects from initial concept through to commissioning.
- Coordinate with production, fabrication, procurement and installation teams.
- Liaise with clients to understand project requirements and provide technical support.
- Prepare project schedules, monitor progress and ensure deadlines are achieved.
- Source materials and equipment and coordinate with suppliers.
- Conduct site inspections and oversee installation and commissioning where required.
- Ensure compliance with Australian Standards, WHS requirements and company quality procedures.
- Identify project risks and implement practical engineering solutions.
- Prepare technical documentation, reports and project handover packages.
Skills and Experience
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Project Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Demonstrated experience as a Project Engineer in manufacturing, process engineering or industrial projects.
- Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD (essential).
- Experience designing tank layouts, machinery layouts and plant/equipment arrangements.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Strong project management, planning and organisational skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Knowledge of Australian Standards and workplace health and safety requirements.
- Experience with 3D CAD software such as Inventor or SolidWorks is desirable.
