Community Support Worker - Group Social Programs (Aged Care)
We are seeking a vibrant and extroverted person who is passionate about facilitating community connections for people who are elderly. This is a full time position in our group social activities program. Hours are usually between 8:00 am - 4:00 pm, however rotational opportunities exist for activities which take place on some evenings or Saturday.
Our new staff member will join a sociable, active, and supportive team and be involved in planning and delivering fun group activities to actively engage with and support people to be part of our community and to love life. Our program includes activities based in our centre at Nerang and excursions into the community in our custom community access vehicles.

To join our team you will :
Hold a Certificate IV in Leisure and Health (preferable) or hold a Minimum Certificate III in either Individual, Aged or Disability Support
Hold,
or obtain before commencement, an NDIS Worker Clearance
Hold, or obtain before commencement, current First Aid / CPR qualifications (or obtain prior to commencement)
Be a team player with a can-do attitude and a vibrant, engaging personality
Be proactive and motivated, encouraging and supportive of people to participate in fun and stimulating activities and overcome barriers to participation
Possess an unrestricted driver's License.
The following qualifications/skills will also be an advantage:
Experience working with people who are elderly and/or living with a disability
Minimum of 6 months experience working with elderly and/or people living with a disability is required
Knowledge of Gold Coast recreational locations, routes and travel times
Confidence in driving a Van and Ability to tow a trailer
Meal preparation/cooking experience
A Light Rigid driving license
Knowledge of food safety and experience with meal preparation.
