About Us
The hospital serves as the central referral hub for Central Queensland,
managing approximately 1,400 births annually. Our level 4 maternity service includes a 15-bed antenatal/postnatal ward, a 5-bed birth suite, and a specialized Special Care Nursery. We focus on connected teams and community partnerships to deliver amazing care close to home.
About the Role
- Assess, plan, implement, and coordinate individualised midwifery care in partnership with women across antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal periods.
- Exercise increasing professional judgement and clinical autonomy to deliver safe, evidence-based care outcomes.
- Provide support, guidance, preceptorship, and mentoring to new and less experienced staff members.
- Delegate tasks and supervise clinical activities consistent with the NMBA decision-making framework.
About You
- You will hold current registration as a Registered Midwife with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- You will demonstrate comprehensive midwifery knowledge and clinical skills to competently assess, plan, and evaluate patient care.
- You will exhibit strong interpersonal and communication skills that support effective multidisciplinary teamwork and staff supervision.
- You will apply evidence-based practice and a commitment to continuous quality improvement within clinical settings.
What's on offer:
Total remuneration value of up to $127,861 p.a. is comprised of:
- An hourly rate between $44.06 - $56.51 p.h.
- 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
- 17.5% leave loading
