Col Wilkie Body Works is seeking an experienced Trade Panel Beater to join our team in Toowoomba, QLD. This is a full-time position offering the opportunity to work with a respected automotive trades business. As a Panel Beater, you will play a crucial role in our workshop, delivering high-quality panel beating and vehicle repair services to our valued customers. This position is integral to maintaining our reputation for excellence in automotive body work and ensuring customer satisfaction through skilled craftsmanship and attention to detail.

What you'll be doing

- Assess vehicle damage and determine the most effective repair methods
- Remove and replace damaged panels using specialised tools and equipment
- Perform metal work, reshaping and straightening vehicle panels to restore original form
- Prepare panels for painting by sanding, filling and smoothing surfaces
- Operate panel beating machinery and power tools safely and effectively
- Inspect completed work to ensure quality standards are met
- Maintain a safe and organised workshop workplace
- Keep accurate records of work completed and materials used
- Adhere to all relevant health and safety regulations and workshop protocols

What we're looking for

- Formal qualifications or apprenticeship completion in panel beating or automotive body work
- Proven experience as a qualified Panel Beater in a professional workshop environment
- Robust technical knowledge of vehicle repair techniques and panel beating processes
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools and panel beating machinery
- Ability to read and interpret repair documentation and technical specifications




- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
- Good communication skills and customer service orientation
- Current driver's licence is essential
- Knowledge of relevant workplace health and safety legislation
- Preferred: Experience with computerised measuring systems and alignment technology
