Link-Force Au is seeking a skilled and experienced Formwork Carpenter to join our team on a casual basis. This role is based in West End, Brisbane, QLD. As a Formwork Carpenter, you will play a crucial role in preparing and constructing the temporary wooden frameworks and moulds used in concrete construction. Your expertise will be essential in ensuring that formwork is erected safely, accurately and efficiently, directly impacting the quality and timeline of our construction projects.
Key responsibilities
Construct, assemble and erect formwork systems for concrete pouring operations on construction sites
Read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings to ensure formwork is built to precise specifications
Measure, cut and shape timber and other materials to required dimensions using appropriate hand and power tools
Install bracing, supports and props to ensure formwork structures are secure and stable
Inspect formwork for defects, damage or misalignment before and after concrete pouring
Collaborate with other tradespeople, supervisors and site managers to coordinate formwork activities with overall construction schedules
Dismantle and remove formwork safely once concrete has cured to specification
Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to site safety protocols and regulations
Operate and maintain tools and equipment in accordance with manufacturer guidelines and workplace standards
What we're looking for
Current and valid carpentry qualifications or equivalent demonstrated experience in formwork carpentry
Proven experience working as a Formwork Carpenter on commercial or industrial construction projects
Strong ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings accurately
Proficiency with hand tools, power tools and basic measurement instruments
Knowledge of formwork systems,
bracing techniques and concrete construction methodologies
Excellent spatial awareness and attention to detail to ensure precision in measurements and alignment
Physical fitness and ability to work at heights, including comfort with climbing ladders and scaffolding
Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel to different project sites as required
Current White Card or equivalent construction safety induction certification
Strong commitment to workplace health and safety standards and best practices
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team in a fast-paced environment
Preferred: Experience with modern formwork systems and shuttering techniques
