We are seeking an experienced Environmental Services Assistant (Cleaner) to join our team at the Far North Day Hospital in Cairns, Queensland. This is a part-time (Monday-Friday, afternoon/evening) opportunity to contribute to maintaining a clean, safe and inviting environment for our patients and staff.
What you'll be doing
Ensuring and upholding high cleanliness standards in operating theatres.
Perform general cleaning duties throughout the hospital, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming and sanitising high-traffic areas
Ensure all patient rooms, bathrooms, corridors and common areas meet strict hygiene standards
Restock and manage cleaning supplies and equipment
Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures related to infection control and safety
Provide exceptional customer service to patients, visitors and staff
What we're looking for
Prior experience in a similar cleaning or environmental services role, ideally within a healthcare setting
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness
Excellent time management skills and the ability to work efficiently, independently and in a team.
Familiarity with the use of cleaning equipment and chemicals
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
A flexible and adaptable approach to work
Commitment to adhering to all health and safety policies and procedures
