Our client in Mermaid Waters runs a professional, well-structured kitchen where the last plate goes out early, the roster is consistent, and you're walking to your car by 8:30pm — not scrubbing down at midnight. If you're a capable chef with solid à la carte experience who wants your evenings (and your sanity) back, keep reading.

What your shift looks like

You'll be preparing and cooking modern Australian cuisine to established quality and presentation standards.



Day to day, that means:

- Running your mise en place in line with service and business needs

- Cooking and plating to spec during a focused evening service

- Helping keep stock control tight — managing food costs and minimising waste

- Pitching in on specials and menu ideas

- Keeping your section clean and compliant with HACCP and food safety standards

Who we're looking for

- An experienced Commis or Demi Chef — previous kitchen experience is essential

- Confident with food safety, HACCP, and kitchen hygiene standards

- Good working knowledge of dietary requirements

- Aged care catering experience is a bonus, but definitely not a dealbreaker

- Reliable, organised, and easy to work alongside — this team looks after each other

- Pay: $31.30 – $47.00 per hour, depending on experience and casual vs part-time arrangement (Award rates apply)

- Location: In-person role, Mermaid Waters QLD 4218

- Hours: Consistent afternoon/evening shifts, occasional mornings
