Accounts Assistant | Full-Time or Part time | North Gold Coast

Based at our Head Office on the Northern Gold Coast, this is an exciting opportunity to join our supportive Finance team and gain exposure to the building, manufacturing, property development and sales industries.
We're seeking an organised and proactive Accounts Assistant (Full-time or Part-time) with strong Accounts Receivable and collections experience. This diverse role combines customer account management, finance administration and accounting support, making it ideal for someone who enjoys building relationships, solving problems and delivering accurate financial outcomes.
About the Role
Reporting to the CFO, your responsibilities will include:
- Managing the Accounts Receivable function, including invoicing, receipting and account reconciliations.
- Proactively managing outstanding debtor accounts through professional and effective collections activities.
- Contacting customers by phone and email to resolve account queries, negotiate payment arrangements and maintain positive customer relationships.
- Monitoring debtor ageing and following up overdue accounts to improve cash flow.
- Processing customer payments and maintaining accurate account records.
- Reconciling bank accounts, credit cards and balance sheet accounts.
- Preparing month-end journals, accruals and prepayments.
- Assisting with BAS preparation.
- Maintaining the company asset register, including acquisitions, disposals and transfers.
- Assisting with asset audits and reconciliations.
- Coordinating company fleet registrations and renewals.
- Assisting with insurance administration and claims.
- Providing payroll support as required.
- Supporting continuous improvement of finance systems and processes.
- Providing administrative support to the CFO and Finance team.
- Assisting team members across the finance function during periods of leave.
About You
To succeed in this role, you will have:
- Demonstrated experience in Accounts Receivable and collections within a commercial workplace.
- Confidence managing customer account enquiries and negotiating payment outcomes while maintaining positive customer relationships.
- Experience in Accounts Payable and general finance administration.
- Strong reconciliation skills, including bank and credit card reconciliations.
- Experience preparing journals and assisting with month-end processes.
- Experience maintaining asset registers and fixed assets (preferred).
- Exposure to payroll processing (preferred).
- Proficiency in accounting and IT systems, including Databuild Onsite Companion and Therefore.
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Skills & Experience
- Qualifications in Accounting, Bookkeeping or Finance (or currently studying) will be preferred.
- Minimum two years' experience in an Accounts Receivable, Accounts Assistant or Finance Administration role.
- Experience in collections and debtor management is essential.
- Ability to successfully complete a National Criminal History Check.
