About the Opportunity

We are a well-established Canberra-based mortgage brokerage looking for an experienced Credit Analyst to work closely alongside one of our brokers, taking ownership of the loan preparation and processing function from initial assessment through to settlement. This is a genuine prospect to play a pivotal role in a high-performing brokerage, with real autonomy over your own pipeline and the support of an experienced team around you.
Key Responsibilities
1. Loan Preparation & Structuring
- Review client scenarios and financial documentation to assess suitability
- Structure loan applications to align with client goals and lender requirements
- Conduct preliminary lender policy and servicing analysis to support loan recommendations
2. Application Processing & Pipeline Management
- Prepare and lodge loan applications via MyCRM and Apply Online (or similar platforms)
- Manage a pipeline of applications, proactively tracking progress and following up outstanding conditions
- Liaise with lenders, clients and other stakeholders (conveyancers, real estate agents) to keep deals on track
3. Lender Policy & Compliance
- Maintain a thorough, up-to-date understanding of lender policy, credit criteria and serviceability calculators
- Ensure all files are compliant with NCCP obligations and internal processes
- Keep the broker informed of relevant lender policy changes

Client & Broker Support
- Act as a key point of contact for clients during the application process, providing clear and timely updates
- Support the broker with file management, documentation and day-to-day administrative requirements
- Maintain accurate and up-to‑date records throughout the loan lifecycle
Key Selection Criteria
Essential
- Minimum 4 years' experience working within a mortgage brokerage in a credit analyst, loan processing or similar role
- Strong working knowledge of MyCRM, Apply Online, or comparable broker platforms
- Thorough understanding of lender policy, credit assessment and loan processes across a broad lender panel
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills
- Confident communicator, comfortable liaising with lenders and clients
- Ability to manage a pipeline of files and prioritise competing deadlines
Desirable
- Certificate IV or Diploma in Finance and Mortgage Broking
- Sound knowledge of NCCP compliance obligations within the mortgage broking industry
- Experience working directly alongside a broker in a similar support capacity
