Product Manager – Particle Characterisation & Advanced Heating Technologies

Metrohm Australia & New Zealand is seeking a commercially minded and technically capable Product Manager to lead our Microtrac particle characterisation and Carbolite furnace portfolios across Australia and New Zealand.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join Metrohm Australia and Recent Zealand, a European leader in cutting-edge analytical instrumentation and laboratory equipment for private and public sectors. We are experiencing rapid growth with many new and exciting products in the pipeline.

Workplace Location and Eligibility

This position is based at either our Sydney Head Office or our Melbourne office. To be considered for this role, candidates must have the legal right to work in Australia, which includes Australian citizenship or permanent residency status.

About the Role

This role combines product management, market development, technical leadership and commercial responsibility. You will work closely with customers, suppliers, Territory Managers, Service Engineers and Marketing to drive sustainable portfolio growth.

About the Portfolio

The portfolio includes advanced technologies for:

- Particle size and shape analysis
- Dynamic light scattering (DLS)
- Surface charge (zeta potential) analysis
- Stability analysis
- BET surface area analysis
- Materials characterisation applications
- Laboratory and industrial ovens, furnaces and custom thermal processing solutions

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and execute growth strategies for the Microtrac and Carbolite portfolios
- Identify new applications, markets and commercial opportunities
- Build strong relationships with key customers and industry stakeholders
- Monitor market trends,



competitor activity and emerging technologies

Sales & Market Support

- Support Territory Managers with technical consultation, demonstrations and customer presentations
- Deliver product and application training
- Develop sales tools, value propositions and marketing initiatives
- Support major opportunities and strategic projects
- Manage pricing, margins, forecasts and portfolio performance
- Prepare business cases and growth plans
- Act as the primary interface with international suppliers and sales and service teams
- Coordinate product launches and strategic supplier initiatives

About You

- Degree in Science, Engineering or a related discipline
- Experience with scientific instrumentation, laboratory equipment or related technologies
- Strong communication, presentation and stakeholder management skills
- Commercial awareness and business acumen
- Current driver's licence and willingness to travel throughout Australia, New Zealand and overseas

Highly Desirable

- Experience in particle characterisation, materials science, battery materials, minerals, ceramics or thermal processing
- Product Management, Product Specialist or Business Development experience
- Experience supporting technical sales teams
- Knowledge of research, university, mining, battery or advanced manufacturing markets
