Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Sheet Metal Bender with hands‑on experience operating turret punch, fabrication and brake press machines. This role is responsible for manufacturing sheet metal components to specification, ensuring quality standards are met, and supporting production targets in a safe and effective manner.

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of sheet metal fabrication processes, be able to read technical drawings, and have demonstrated experience setting up and operating sheet metal machinery within a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

- Operate Turret Punch and Brake Press machines safely and efficiently
- Manufacture sheet metal components in accordance with engineering drawings and specifications
- Set up machinery and tooling for production runs
- Perform quality checks to ensure components meet required standards
- Read and interpret technical drawings and work instructions
- Identify and report defects, machine faults, or production issues
- Conduct first‑off inspections and ongoing quality checks during production
- Assist with fabrication, assembly, and handling of sheet metal products




- Maintain equipment and perform routine machine checksFollow all workplace health and safety procedures
- Maintain a clean and organised work area in line with 5S principles
- Work collaboratively with the production team to achieve production targets
- Complete other duties as directed by the Production Manager

Qualifications and Experience

- Previous experience in sheet metal fabrication within a manufacturing environment
- Demonstrated experience operating Turret Punch and Brake Press machines is essential
- Strong understanding of sheet metal fabrication processes and techniques
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
- Experience performing quality inspections and measuring fabricated components
- Knowledge of workplace health and safety requirements in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high‑quality work
- Reliable, motivated, and committed to meeting production deadlines
- Physically capable of performing manual handling tasks and standing for extended periods
- Australian citizenship or permanent residency required
