Cafe and Restaurant Manager (Weekend Availability Essential)

The Café and Restaurant Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the business, ensuring efficient food and beverage service delivery, coordinating staff performance, managing purchasing and inventory activities, maintaining compliance with relevant regulatory requirements, monitoring business performance, and delivering an outstanding customer experience. The role works closely with kitchen and service teams to support efficient operations and achieve the commercial objectives of the business.

Key Responsibilities

- Overseeing the daily operations of the business, coordinating kitchen and front-of-house activities to ensure efficient workflow, consistent food and beverage standards, and smooth service delivery during breakfast, brunch and lunch service periods.
- Recruiting, training, supervising and supporting team members, including allocating duties, monitoring staff performance, providing guidance on workplace procedures, and ensuring employees maintain expected service standards.
- Coordinating communication between kitchen and service teams to support effective preparation processes, timely order fulfilment, and a positive dining experience for customers.
- Supporting menu planning and food service improvements by collaborating with chefs to review menu offerings, consider customer preferences and seasonal requirements, and contribute to the development of suitable food and beverage selections.
- Managing customer service standards and engagement, including obtaining feedback regarding food quality and service experience, addressing customer concerns, and implementing improvements to enhance customer satisfaction and retention.
- Managing purchasing and supplier coordination activities by assessing business operational requirements,



communicating with suppliers, reviewing product options, and ensuring food, beverage and operational supplies are sourced in accordance with quality expectations and budget considerations.
- Monitoring inventory control processes, including reviewing stock levels, tracking stock usage, identifying wastage trends, and maintaining relevant stock records to support efficient cost management and operational planning.
- Reviewing operational and financial records, including transaction information, expenses and other business performance data, and providing relevant information to management to assist with business planning and decision-making.
- Ensuring business facilities, dining areas and kitchen spaces are maintained to appropriate standards of cleanliness, presentation and functionality, with food handling practices and workplace procedures implemented in accordance with health, safety and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinating business functions, group bookings and special events, including arranging staffing requirements, service preparation and operational resources.
- Reviewing operational performance and identifying opportunities to improve service efficiency, customer experience, and overall business profitability.

Qualification & Experience

- Diploma or above in Hospitality Management or a related qualification.
- 2 years of full time relevant experience in a café, restaurant or hospitality management role.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent organisational, communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to coordinate daily restaurant operations in a fast-paced environment.
