As our business continues to grow, we are seeking an experienced High Voltage Electrical Engineer to join our engineering team.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced HV Electrical Engineer to play a key role in the design, engineering and delivery of high-voltage electrical infrastructure projects.

Working closely with our engineering, drafting, project management and production teams, you will provide technical leadership from concept design through to manufacturing, testing, commissioning, and project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

- Design and engineer HV switchrooms, transportable substations and HV power distribution systems.
- Prepare and review Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), protection schematics, control drawings and General Arrangement (GA) drawings.
- Specify and integrate HV switchgear, transformers, protection relays, metering and associated equipment.
- Protection coordination and discrimination
- Load flow analysis
- Cable sizing and voltage drop calculations
- Earthing system design and studies
- Review technical specifications, client standards and project documentation.
- Provide engineering support during manufacturing, Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) and commissioning.
- Liaise with clients, consultants, utilities,



suppliers and project stakeholders.
- Ensure designs comply with Australian Standards, client requirements and industry best practice.
- Contribute to engineering innovation, continuous improvement and quality assurance initiatives.

About You

- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum 5 years' experience* in High Voltage electrical engineering.
- Demonstrated experience designing HV substations, switchrooms or power distribution systems.
- Strong understanding of Australian Standards, including:
- AS/NZS 3000
- AS 2067 (Substations and High Voltage Installations)
- AS/NZS 61439* (where applicable)
- Relevant HV protection and utility standards.
- Experience with HV protection systems, transformers, switchgear and protection relays.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, EPLAN or equivalent electrical engineering software.
- Excellent analytical, technical and problem-solving skills.
- Robust communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining a high standard of technical quality.
- Experience with utility, mining or renewable energy projects.
- Knowledge of IEC standards and power system studies.
- Experience with Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) and commissioning.
- Familiarity with major protection relay manufacturers such as Schneider Electric, Siemens, ABB
