About ColCap
ColCap is one of Australia's leading non-bank lenders, with a portfolio exceeding $20 billion and a house of brands spanning Origin MMS (wholesale), Homestar Finance (direct retail), Granite Home Loans (broker), Austrata Finance (strata) and Molo Finance (UK buy-to-let). Our Triton RMBS program is a benchmark in the Australian securitisation market. As we scale our securitisation programs, distribution channels and digital capabilities, we are building the institutional infrastructure to support the next stage of strategic growth.
The Role
Reporting to the Chief Risk & Compliance Officer, the Head of Compliance leads the Compliance Management Framework across ColCap's AFSL and ACL obligations and personally owns the operational AML/CTF Program, the Privacy Management Framework and the regulatory change function. You will be the primary institutional interface with ASIC, AUSTRAC and the OAIC, and the CRCO's principal operational delegate for day-to-day AML/CTF execution and AUSTRAC engagement.
This is a senior Line 2 leadership role for someone who wants their work to matter, and to be seen to matter, at Board and regulator level.
What you will own
- The Compliance Management Framework, obligations register, monitoring and testing calendar, and breach and near-miss register.
- The Reportable Situations regime end to end, including ASIC Regulatory Portal lodgement within the 30-day statutory window.
- Regulator engagement with ASIC, AUSTRAC, OAIC and AFCA, including surveillance responses and thematic reviews.
- The operational AML/CTF Program (Part A and Part B), KYC/KYB/CDD/EDD across Homestar, Granite and Origin MMS, and SMR/TTR/IFTI reporting pipelines.
- The Privacy Management Framework, Credit Reporting obligations (s21U, s6Q, s21D), Notifiable Data Breaches assessments and CRB data accuracy.
- Current Business Approval, DDO and TMD governance, Key Person and Responsible Manager notifications and the annual ACL compliance certificate.
- Regulatory change management across ASIC, AUSTRAC, OAIC, ACCC and APRA, including the CDR program and the 2026 AML/CTF reforms.
- Leadership of compliance staff and high quality reporting to the CRCO, Audit & Risk Committee and Board.
What you will bring
- 10+ years in compliance, regulatory affairs or legal within Australian financial services, with hands‑on experience under an ACL or AFSL.
- Deep technical command of the NCCP Act, Corporations Act s912A, ASIC RG 205, RG 209, RG 271 and RG 78, DDO and the Reportable Situations regime.
- Direct experience managing ASIC, AUSTRAC and OAIC relationships and running SMR and IFTI pipelines.
- Working knowledge of the Privacy Act 1988, the Privacy (Credit Reporting) Code 2014 and the NDB scheme.
- Practical experience translating regulatory change into operational reality, including CDR from mid‑2026 and the 2026 AML/CTF reform package.
- Non‑bank lending or securitisation experience is highly regarded; postgraduate qualifications in law, compliance or finance and membership of ACLS or the Governance Institute are well regarded.
- Senior seat at a pivotal stage of institutional growth, with direct exposure to the CRCO, executive team, ARC and Board.
- Substantive work with sophisticated funding partners, institutional investors, rating agencies and statutory regulators.
- A culture that values precision, accountability and commercial judgement over process for process' sake.
- Recognition for strong performance and active support for career development.
