Located in the Beef Capital of Australia, the JBS Rockhampton processing facility produces a range of pasture fed and grain fed beef products, from commodity to premium. Our organic beef brand, Acres Organic and Right to Roam, our verified grass-fed beef brand are both packed exclusively at Rockhampton. The plant employs approximately 500 team members with a current processing capacity of 700 head of beef cattle per day, operating 6 days/week. About the role
We are currently recruiting a skilled Maintenance Fitter to join our Rockhampton Maintenance Team in a full-time capacity. Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, this position forms part of a small team that is responsible for the repairs and maintenance of the feedlot, farm infrastructure and plant. This is a full time position with annual salary not less than $79,423.00 plus superannuation.
- Ensuring maximum equipment uptime is achieved by providing effective and efficient preventative and scheduled maintenance
- General welding and fabrication duties
- Engaging in making, fitting or repairing mechanical machines, instruments and appliances
- Ensuring that all work is carried out to meet the Company safety and housekeeping requirements and conforms to all relevant regulations
- Supporting other projects that may arise
About You
- Minimum 2 years post-trade experience
- Previous welding and fabrication experience preferred
- Experience welding and cutting with S/S Tig, Mig, Stick, Oxy advantageous
- Ability to work autonomously and in a team
- Experience in maintenance/repair in a rapid-paced manufacturing environment
- Demonstrated ability to identify faults with the ability to troubleshoot and rectify problems
- Effective and efficient fault finding and diagnostic skills
- Thorough understanding of maintenance work management practices
- Understanding of work planning and scheduling procedures
- Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills
- Thorough understanding and knowledge of WHS regulations/procedures
- Confined Space and BA Competence highly desired
