We're seeking a Program Manager to lead the planning, governance and delivery of a diverse portfolio of capital maintenance and enhancement projects across Transurban's asset network. You'll join a high-performing national Delivery team and play a key leadership role in shaping how major maintenance programs are delivered across our assets. This role combines strategic program leadership with people leadership, driving operational excellence, strengthening delivery capability and fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement.
As Program Manager, you'll contribute to lasting and positive changes that shape the future of our cities and communities. It's meaningful, challenging and exciting work. Day-to-day, you will:
Lead a large and complex portfolio of maintenance and infrastructure projects, ensuring delivery is protected, efficient and aligned to scope, schedule and budget objectives. Provide leadership and direction to a multidisciplinary project delivery team, developing capability and creating a high-performing, engaged culture. Establish strong governance, program controls and delivery frameworks to support effective decision making and portfolio performance.
Partner closely with Asset, Engineering, Commercial, Legal and operational stakeholders to successfully deliver capital maintenance and enhancement programs. Drive consistency, continuous improvement and best practice project delivery across a diverse portfolio of projects and workstreams. Manage program risks, interdependencies, budgets and contractor performance while ensuring projects achieve quality, safety and business outcomes. Influence and engage stakeholders at all levels, building alignment and supporting the successful implementation of change and new ways of working.
This role will suit someone with a curious mind and transferrable skills and experiences, including:
- Extensive experience leading complex infrastructure, engineering or asset-based projects or programs within sectors such as transport, roads, utilities, rail, resources, energy or similar environments. A strong track record leading large project delivery teams and creating high-performing cultures through effective coaching, accountability and people leadership. Demonstrated success managing multiple concurrent projects and delivering outcomes through strong governance, planning, risk management and commercial oversight.
- Experience driving organisational, operational or cultural change within complex stakeholder environments. Outstanding communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence, challenge constructively and build trust at all levels. Relevant tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management or a related discipline.
- Professional program or project management certifications will be highly regarded. If you meet some of these requirements, but not all, we encourage you to submit your application.
