The Opportunity

As the Payroll Manager you will be accountable for the governance, compliance and delivery of payroll services across Carrington’s workforce. You will collaborate with internal teams to ensure the organisation meets its compliance obligations and supports organisational financial integrity through effective oversight of payroll operations and internal controls, robust reconciliation, reporting and workforce cost oversight. Reporting to the Executive Manager - Finance & IT and working collaboratively with Finance & HR,



this full-time onsite opportunity enjoys a remuneration package comprised of base salary + leave loading, superannuation & NFP Salary Packaging. This role has one direct report to lead & grow.

Responsibilities:

- Leading the payroll team to deliver accurate, timely and compliant payroll services across Carrington
- Managing the payroll team, maintaining an appropriately skilled and resourced team delivering to services standards
- Managing end-to-end payroll delivery for approximately 800 employees across all service streams.
- Ensuring payroll practices comply with our obligations, in collaboration with HR, including our Enterprise Agreement & underpinning Awards, Salary Packaging, etc.
- Providing advice and subject matter expertise on payroll and industrial provisions, as well as owning payroll system configuration, data integrity and access controls.
- Providing strategic reporting and commentary, including payroll forecasting, labour cost reporting & trends, to support organisational strategy
- Maintain a payroll business continuity plan, including risk exposure analysis & cross-training.

About you

- Demonstrated leadership or management experience & skills, ideally in a payroll management role.
- Experience overseeing end-to-end payroll operations within a medium to large organisation, including supporting payroll reconciliations and financial reporting processes.




- Proven ability to interpret and apply industrial instruments and legislative requirements in a payroll environment & strong working knowledge of the Fair Work Act, National Employment Standards and Enterprise Agreement interpretation.
- Advanced proficiency & knowledge of payroll systems and payroll data controls.
- Demonstrated analytical & problems solving skills, including data interpretation, reporting and discrepancy resolution
- Excellent communication & stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to provide clear advice to managers and stakeholders
- Willingness to obtain NDIS Worker Check
- Experience operating within a regulated workplace (aged care, health or not-for-profit preferred).
- Experience operating under an Enterprise Agreement framework.
- Demonstrated involvement in payroll system enhancements, upgrades or process optimisation initiatives.
- Exposure to internal or external audit processes relating to payroll compliance and controls.
