About the Role
As a Kitchen Steward, you'll play an essential role in supporting our chefs and kitchen team by ensuring equipment, utensils and work areas are maintained to the highest standard.
This is a hands on role that requires plenty of lifting, manual handling and working in a busy commercial kitchen where space is limited and safety is critical.
What You'll Be Doing
- Washing dishes, pots, pans, utensils and kitchen equipment.
- Maintaining a clean, organised and hygienic kitchen environment.
- Assisting with waste removal and stock movement.
- Operating commercial dishwashing equipment safely and efficiently.
- Using cleaning chemicals in accordance with food safety and workplace procedures.
- Supporting the kitchen team to ensure service runs smoothly.
- Following food safety, WHS and hygiene standards at all times.
What You'll Bring
- Previous experience working in a commercial kitchen or stewarding role is essential.
- A strong work ethic and the ability to work independently.
- Physically fit and comfortable with repetitive lifting and manual handling.
- Comfortable working in hot, fast paced kitchens and confined workspaces.
- Knowledge of safe chemical handling and cleaning procedures.
- A positive attitude and willingness to jump in wherever needed.
- Availability to work a rotating roster including evenings, weekends and public holidays.
