Purpose of the role

This is a rare opportunity to help lead one of Sydney's most exciting place-based philanthropic programs from the ground up. The Program Manager will lead delivery of Sydney Women's Fund's strategic programs and partnerships, bringing our Liverpool place-based work to life alongside community and helping shape what comes next as the Fund grows.

No two days will look the same. One day you might be facilitating a co-design session with a Community Governance Group; the next, drafting a funding proposal, briefing the Advisory Council, or pulling together the details of a flagship fundraising event.

This role suits someone who genuinely enjoys that variety, a confident, self-directed problem-solver who takes ownership, builds trust easily, and turns good ideas into real outcomes for women and families across Western Sydney.

Key responsibilities

Program delivery and stewardship

- Lead the co-design, planning and coordination of Sydney Women's Fund's strategic and place-based programs in Western Sydney,



ensuring they're delivered to a high standard and achieve meaningful outcomes.
- Translate research, community engagement and lived experience into practical, workable program models.
- Facilitate co-design processes with women, community organisations and partners.
- Provide coaching, supervision and collaboration for programs and services co-designed with community.
- Assist organisations delivering community-led initiatives with backbone support – identifying organisational strengthening needs and sourcing capacity-building opportunities.
- Support and coordinate Community Governance Groups and other community advisory groups, including meeting preparation, governance processes and follow-up actions.
- Monitor program performance, budgets, milestones and outcomes, and prepare reports and briefings for management, funders and the Board as required.
- Prepare reports, briefings and updates for management, funders and the Advisory Council as required.

Community partnerships and engagement

- Build trusted relationships across Western Sydney, keeping Sydney Women's Fund genuinely connected to the communities we work alongside.
- Develop and maintain relationships with community organisations, local leaders, government and other stakeholders.
- Represent Sydney Women's Fund at meetings, forums and community events.
- Identify emerging community priorities and opportunities for collaboration.
- Strengthen Sydney Women's Fund's visibility, reputation and partnerships across Western Sydney, ensuring community perspectives continue to inform program design and delivery.

Fundraising and partnerships

- Research and identify grant and funding opportunities to support the Fund's growth and sustainability.
- Prepare compelling grant applications, proposals and funding submissions.
- Support reporting and relationship management with funders.
- Contribute ideas and initiatives that support organisational growth and sustainability.

Events and strategic projects

- Project manage Sydney Women's Fund's flagship fundraising and stakeholder events, from concept to delivery.
- Coordinate venues, suppliers, speakers, volunteers and event logistics.
- Develop project plans, timelines and budgets, and ensure events are delivered professionally and achieve their objectives.
- Support delivery of other strategic projects as priorities arise.

Key selection criteria





- Minimum 5 years' experience designing, leading and delivering complex community or social impact programs.
- Experience leading co-design or participatory engagement processes with communities.
- Strong strategic thinking, with the ability to connect community insight, evidence and organisational strategy to program design.
- Strong project management and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Confident relationship-builder, comfortable partnering with a broad range of stakeholders, ideally in place-based or complex social change contexts.
- Excellent written communication skills, including experience preparing funding proposals and reports.
- A genuine, demonstrated commitment to gender equality, social justice and community-led approaches.
- Tertiary qualifications in social work, community development, social studies or a related discipline highly regarded.
- Existing relationships and/or lived experience in Western Sydney highly regarded.
- Current driver's licence and access to a vehicle essential, given this role works across Newtown and Liverpool.
