Minimum Requirements:

Certificate II or III in commercial Cookery with at least 1-2 years’ experience as a cook.

Key Responsibilities:

- Prepare a wide range of meals from the menu
- Prepare ingredients for cooking, including portioning, chopping, and storing food before use
- Contribute to improving the menu list, kitchen facility, and business of the restaurant
- Prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality standards, presentation
- Standards and food preparation checklist




- Undertake portion control practices, arrange, and garnish food according to the
- Store food in temperature-controlled facilities
- Provide input in the creation of seasonal menus and recent recipes
- Season and cook food according to recipes or your own experience and knowledge
- Help with stock management including, ordering, rotation, and wastage control
- Ensure wastage is kept to a minimum
- Keep a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen

Other Key Skills and Experience:

- Skilled in preparing, seasoning, and cooking food according to recipes
- Understanding of food safety and OHS requirements
- Be able to work under pressure in a busy kitchen
- Be a motivated individual who has a passion for cooking
