Demi Chef

We’re on the lookout for a motivated Demi Chef to join our vibrant kitchen team at Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary. This is a great opportunity for someone with solid kitchen experience who is eager to grow and thrive in a agile, fast-paced environment.

As a Demi Chef, you'll assist in preparing, cooking, and presenting dishes in a specific section such as grill, sauce, or pastry. You’ll help ensure high food quality, maintain hygiene standards, and support junior kitchen staff, all while contributing to a smooth and efficient service.

Key Responsibilities:

- Prepare and present dishes to a high standard within your assigned section
- Maintain a clean, organised, and compliant kitchen space
- Follow food safety and hygiene protocols at all times
- Monitor stock and assist with rotation and inventory control
- Support and guide Commis Chefs and junior team members




- Communicate effectively with other sections during service
- Respond to the demands of a fast-paced kitchen environment

About You:

- 1 - 2 years of experience in a professional kitchen, ideally in a similar role
- Basic knowledge of kitchen operations and food prep techniques
- Strong teamwork, communication, and time management skills
- Willingness to learn and take direction from senior chefs
- Understanding of kitchen health and safety regulations
- Able to perform under pressure in a busy service setting
- Flexible availability, including weekends and public holidays
