Crow's Nest Children's Centre is seeking passionate and dedicated Lead Educators and Educators to join our team in Crow's Nest, QLD. This is a part-time position that offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on children's development and learning in an early childhood education and care setting.
As a Lead Educator or Educator, you will play a vital role in creating a nurturing, stimulating and inclusive environment where children can thrive. You will be responsible for planning and delivering high-quality educational programs that support children's growth across all developmental domains. This position is integral to our commitment to providing exceptional childcare and outside school hours care services.
Key responsibilities
Plan, implement and evaluate engaging educational activities and play-based learning experiences that support children's development in accordance with the Australian Early Years Learning Framework
Provide direct care and supervision to children, ensuring their safety, wellbeing and individual needs are met at all times
Build positive relationships with children, families and team members to foster a supportive and collaborative environment
Maintain detailed observations and documentation of children's learning and development to inform future programming
Communicate regularly with families about their child's progress, experiences and wellbeing
Maintain a clean, safe and age-appropriate learning environment that encourages exploration and discovery
Support children's social-emotional development and help them develop positive relationships with peers
Assist with routine care activities including meals, rest time and personal hygiene as required
Lead or contribute to team meetings and collaborative planning sessions (for Lead Educator role)
Model and promote positive behaviour guidance strategies consistent with centre policies
What we're looking for
Current Working with Children Check (valid for Queensland)
Recognised qualification in early childhood education and care, such as Certificate III or Diploma in Children's Services (or equivalent) or willing to obtain
First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
Sound knowledge of child development and the Australian Early Years Learning Framework
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with children, families and colleagues
Demonstrated commitment to creating inclusive, welcoming and culturally responsive environments
Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks
Passion for early childhood education and a genuine interest in supporting children's learning and development
Ability to work flexibly as part of a team in a fast-paced childcare setting
Relevant experience working in childcare or outside school hours care settings (desirable but not essential for Educator role)
Leadership experience and demonstrated ability to mentor and support other educators (desirable for Lead Educator role)
