Reporting directly to the Vaccine Research & Development Manager, you won't just be developing analytical methods, you'll be a central part of our daily laboratory operations. In this hands-on role, we are looking for a key specialist who is capable of running immunoassays from end to end with full autonomy. You will drive critical laboratory-based experiments from end to end and play a key part in managing the lab to ensure it runs smoothly and efficiently.

What You'll Be Accountable For:

- Immunoassay Execution & Autonomy: Independently setup, execute, troubleshoot, and immunoassays (e.g., ELISAs) from start to finish without requiring daily supervision.
- Conducting and Reporting on Laboratory Experiments: Execute experiments according to our Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Operating Instructions (OIs). You will analyse results using appropriate software (e.g., Google Sheets, GraphPad Prism, Combistat), present data to the R&D; team and wider audiences, and accurately record data in the laboratory notebook and shared drives strictly following GSP.
- Laboratory Management & Support: Maintain the necessary inventory of consumables, ensure sample logs are up to date, and maintain the labs in a clean and tidy state, consistent with GLP and an appropriate physical containment level.
- Equipment Maintenance: Handle the regular equipment calibration (e.g., pipettes, ELISA plate washers, etc.), request and follow up on equipment repairs, and schedule and coordinate preventative maintenance to ensure all equipment operates at peak performance. You will also develop and refine standard operating procedures (SOPs) for equipment use and maintenance.

To be Successful in this role,

you will have:

Required Experience & Education:

- Capable of running immunoassays from end to end with full autonomy.
- Bachelor of Science in Biotechnology, Immunology, Microbiology, or similar.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a science laboratory, preferably in the animal or human health sectors.
- Experience working in a project-based research environment, ideally with some experience in a quality-controlled setting.
- Fluent in English, with a good level of general and scientific English usage, both written and oral.
- Good knowledge of relevant scientific techniques, procedures, and principles, with a general understanding and experience in basic microbiological and immunological techniques.
- High proficiency in running immunoassays autonomously from end to end.

- Robust ability to demonstrate drive and results orientation, anticipate and plan, and adapt to change.
- Ability to demonstrate teamwork and develop cross-functional collaboration.

If this opportunity feels like a good fit and you're excited about what we do-we'd love to hear from you. Research shows that people often hesitate to apply unless they meet every single requirement. At Virbac, we care more about your values, your mindset, and your passion than a perfect checklist.
