Install, repair, and maintain metal roofing (Colorbond, Zincalume, corrugated, and standing seam systems)

Measure, cut, and fit roof sheeting, flashings, guttering, and downpipes

Read and interpret plans and specifications accurately

Ensure all work meets Australian Standards and manufacturer installation guidelines

Conduct roof inspections and identify/rectify leaks or storm damage

Work safely at heights, following WHS and site safety procedures

Liaise professionally with clients, site supervisors, and other trades

Maintain tools, equipment, and work vehicle in valuable condition

Keep accurate records of materials used and hours worked

Key Responsibilities

What You’ll Need

- Minimum 3–5 years' experience in metal roofing (essential)




- Trade qualification (Certificate III in Roof Plumbing or Carpentry) highly regarded but not essential for sub‑contractors with proven experience
- Current Working at Heights certification (or willingness to obtain)
- White Card (General Construction Induction)
- Current, valid driver's licence and reliable transport
- Own hand tools (company may supply specialised equipment)
- Sound knowledge of Australian roofing standards and safe work practices
- Ability to read building plans and technical drawings
- Physical fitness and comfort working at heights and in varying weather conditions
- Strong attention to detail and pride in quality workmanship
- Good communication skills and a reliable, punctual work ethic

Highly Regarded (Not Essential)

- Roof plumbing licence
- Experience with commercial/industrial roofing projects
- Experience with guttering, flashing, and cladding installation
- Own ute/trailer (for sub‑contract roles)
- Blue Card (if working on sites near vulnerable people, e.g. schools/aged care)
