We are seeking a highly experienced Senior MS SQL Database Administrator (DBA) with strong cloud migration expertise to drive the database transition of our core .NET application to Google Cloud Platform (GCP). In this role, you will be responsible for replicating, migrating, and optimizing our existing MS SQL Server databases into GCP. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in database replication, hands‑on experience with GCP data services, and the ability to write robust, automated scripts to ensure a seamless migration with minimal downtime.

Key Responsibilities

- Database Administration: Install, configure, and upgrade DB2 databases on Linux/Unix/Windows platforms. Manage database objects (tables, indexes, views) and storage structures. Perform backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning.
- Performance & Optimisation: Monitor database performance and implement tuning strategies. Analyse query execution plans and optimise SQL queries.
- Security & Compliance: Implement and maintain database security policies. Ensure compliance with data protection standards (e.g., PCI, GDPR).
- Maintenance & Support: Apply patches and fix packs to DB2 environments. Troubleshoot and resolve database‑related issues.
- Collaboration: Work closely with application teams for schema design and data modeling. Support migration projects (e.g., on‑prem to cloud environments).
- Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of database configurations and procedures.

Required Skills and Experience

- 6+ years of experience in DB2 Admin Db2 Backup, Restore,



multiple data migration methods.
- Strong experience in IBM DB2 LUW administration.
- Proficiency in SQL, shell scripting, and performance tuning.
- Experience with high availability setups (HADR, Q-Replication).
- Knowledge of backup/recovery strategies and disaster recovery planning.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, or Azure) is a plus.
- Understanding of security and encryption standards.
- Excellent problem‑solving and communication skills.
- Implementing TLS encryption protocols to secure data‑in‑transit across distributed clusters.

Desired Skills and Experience

- Experience with migration projects (AIX to Linux, on‑prem to cloud).
- Knowledge of WebSphere, Java application integration, and middleware.
- Certifications in IBM DB2 or Cloud Database Administration.
