The Red Decker Company is a proudly Tasmanian, family-owned tourism business operating the iconic Red Decker Hop-On Hop-Off Bus, the Kunanyi/Mt Wellington Explorer Bus and the Coal River Valley Explorer. We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Trade Assistance to help keep our vehicles, depot and facilities operating to the highest standard.

This is a hands-on role. If you enjoy practical work, take pride in doing a job well, and don't mind getting your hands dirty, we'd love to hear from you.

About the role:

As a Trade Assistant, you will:

· Play an important role in maintaining our fleet and our workshop/depot.

· Support qualified trades people in maintaining our bus fleet.

· Assist with preparing bus fleet for daily operations while maintaining a safe and organised work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

· Minor bus fleet maintenance and minor repairs.

· Support qualified trades people in maintaining our bus fleet workshop which may include completing parts runs and collecting supplies as required.

· Maintaining a clean, organised and safe workshop environment.

· Assist with day to day operational and general duties as directed.

About you

· Reliable and trustworthy with a robust work ethic

· Able to work independently and as part of a team.



Strong communication and teamwork skills.

· Attention to detail

· Safety conscious and a sound knowledge of workplace health and safety practice.

· Organised and takes pride in maintaining a clean workplace

· Physically fit and capable of manual work

· Current Australian manual drivers licence

An advantage but not essential:

· Forklift licence and/ or

· Medium/Heavy rigid licence
