Certified Dental Assistant (III or IV)

You're the dental assistant who reads a dentist's mind through a surgical mask, and you're ready for more than routine chairside work. At Pure Dentistry, a contemporary, QIP-accredited practice in Upper Mount Gravatt, you'll assist with dental treatments that are sometimes under general anaesthesia (sleep dentistry) and IV sedation — sometimes supporting very young children, patients with special healthcare needs, and adults with severe dental anxiety. You'll build advanced sedation experience that few Queensland practices can offer. The work is demanding (for you, that's just Tuesday), the pay is above award, and the difference is real: you'll help the most anxious patients finally get the care they've been avoiding.

Your role:

This is more than chairside assisting. Great dentistry looks effortless because someone planned, prepped and set it up that way — and that someone is you.



You'll work chairside through procedures and look after the treatment setup and infection control that keep patients safe and the day on track.

Your day-to-day:

- Assisting chairside across general, surgical and paediatric procedures
- Helping anxious patients, young and old, feel at ease before treatment begins
- Setting up treatment rooms with precision
- Running sterilisation and infection control to a meticulous standard
- Keeping stock complete and ready ahead of every day's list
- Rolling with the appointment book when it develops a mind of its own

What we’re looking for:

- Certificate III or IV in Dental Assisting (Essential)
- Permanent work rights in Australia (Essential)
- Valid Australian driver’s licence and own transport (Essential)
- Previous experience in dental treatment under general anaesthesia and/or IV sedation (Preferred)
- Working knowledge of implants, root canals, and treatment setups (Preferred)
- Meticulous infection control (Essential)
- Dependable and reliable (Rock-solid)
- Complex dental treatment set-ups handled with glove‑tight confidence

Where you’ll work:

You’ll be based at our modern clinic in the Village Shopping Centre, Upper Mount Gravatt, with free, secure parking. You may also assist at private hospitals (one day a week), including:

- St Andrew’s War Memorial Hospital in Spring Hill
- Brisbane South Private Hospital (BSPH)
- Ipswich Day Surgery (IDH)

What can be challenging:

This role requires excellent infection control from start to smile. Knowing what can go wrong and preparing for it. A proactive, detail-oriented mindset is essential.
