Our client is a global hedge fund style trading firm managing a large portfolio of high-frequency traded assets from a regional trading hub in Sydney. A newly created Trader Support Middle Office Associate position is available to support an Algo Trading team focused on Equity Options trading across APAC. This role suits an experienced operations, trade support or middle office professional with previous experience at a global investment bank, fund manager or trading firm who will support a high-performing team of traders.

Key responsibilities

- Liaise between desk traders and other dealers and brokers
- Execute orders per requests from traders, operations and external prime brokers to ensure trading system parity
- Compile and reconcile data from electronic trades
- Examine electronic transactions generated from clearing firms
- Resolve erroneous and broken trades
- Maintain position, P&L; and information exchange




- Update and manage post-computer screens including exchange trading systems, proprietary trading applications and spreadsheets

Ideal background

- 2-5+ years experience in equity derivatives, ETD, F&O; or commodity trading support, with a university degree
- Thorough knowledge of equity options and corporate actions
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel
- Ideally Python, VBA, SQL and advanced Excel skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact effectively at all levels of the organization

This is a middle office associate role working as a trader assistant in support of an Algo Trading team. Full time in-office role, five days per week, based in CBD offices.
