Physiotherapist | The Wesley Hospital

Employment Term: Full‑time – Fixed term until Jan 2027

Location: Auchenflower, Brisbane. Just 5 mins from Toowong Shopping Village and 10 mins from Brisbane City.

Remuneration: $45.49–$64.49 per hour + 12% Super + Casual loading + Employee advantages.

Job Summary

We’re looking for a Physiotherapist to join our allied health team in an acute setting. The role involves assessing, planning, and delivering physiotherapy treatment to patients undergoing surgery, medical, cardio‑respiratory, orthopaedic, and other hospital services. You will work collaboratively with multidisciplinary staff to optimize patient recovery and facilitate a smooth transition from acute care to community life.

Key Responsibilities

- Conduct comprehensive physiotherapy assessments and create individualized treatment plans.
- Deliver hands‑on physiotherapy interventions, including exercise prescription and functional training.
- Work with patients to restore movement and function after surgery, illness, or injury.
- Collaborate with nurses, doctors, occupational therapists, speech pathologists and others to provide patient‑centred care.
- Maintain accurate patient records, progress notes, and documentation in line with hospital and AHPRA standards.
- Participate in weekly team meetings and clinical audits to improve quality of care.

Qualifications and Experience

- Minimum 2 years’ post‑graduate experience in an acute hospital setting.
- Relevant qualification in physiotherapy and registration with AHPRA.
- Australian working rights (cannot sponsor).




- Desirable experience in Acute Surgical, Medical, Cardio‑Respiratory, or Orthopaedics.
- Commitment to teamwork and strong communication skills.
- Willingness to obtain required vaccinations in line with hospital infection control requirements.
