Job Purpose
The Senior Project Engineer is responsible for leading the technical, commercial and delivery functions of BY Group projects. This role oversees engineering, program performance, financial control, WHS and environmental compliance while driving project outcomes and supporting the Project Manager to deliver works safely, efficiently and profitably.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead the development, monitoring and adjustment of project programs to ensure on‑time delivery.
- Oversee financial performance including cost control, forecasting, variations, subcontractor claims and progress claims.
- Prepare monthly reports for clients and internal management.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of meetings, correspondence and technical documentation.
- Manage project start‑up activities, procurement strategies and subcontractor engagement.
- Provide senior oversight of trade coordination, sequencing and resolution of bottlenecks.
- Drive project margins through proactive commercial management and risk mitigation.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors and suppliers.
- Ensure WHS compliance, support site audits and verify subcontractor insurances.
- Contribute to environmental planning, compliance and site management requirements.

Qualifications and Competencies

- Demonstrated experience as a Project Engineer or Senior Project Engineer within construction.
- Tertiary qualifications in construction, engineering or a related field (preferred).
- Solid commercial acumen and proven ability to manage project financials.




- Excellent stakeholder management and relationship‑building capability.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Advanced computer skills, including MS Project and project management software (Procore desirable).
- Strong analytical, organisational and leadership skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
