Hands-on, “Head of Finance” role including leadership of a compact finance team

The Company

Our client, a specialist player in the Construction and Project industry, has been operating for over 30 years within Sydney. Its recent acquisition by a larger, leading national constructor has led to the need to ‘beef' up the acquired business’s leadership function. With a combined business turnover of over $500m, they are well resourced and positioned for further growth.

The Role

Whilst reporting to the parent company’s Group Finance Manager, this position will work closely with the General Manager to help grow the business.

However, before all that engaging stuff starts, the newly installed Finance Manager will need to roll up their sleeves and set up best-in-class month-end accounting and reporting processes.

Although it’s called a Finance Manager,



it essentially leads the Finance function.

More specifically, the role will then be responsible for:

- Managing a small, established team of 4 staff. (AP, AP, Payroll)
- Working closely with the General Managers to drive growth
- Production of the month-end accounts and reporting through to Head Office
- Monthly WIP reporting by project
- Lead the initial budgeting and forecasting before finalisation by the Group Office

Your Background

To secure their next Finance Manager, our client is keen to speak to candidates that:

- Are happy to (and have experience in) roll up their sleeves
- Worked in a SME business up to $100m
- Exposure to project (WIP) based environments such as construction, engineering would be a real plus
