Laboratory Services Sample Receipt and Administration Officer

Our client, a leading scientific and analytical services organisation is seeking a Laboratory Services Sample Receipt & Administration Officer to join its busy Laboratory Services team.
This role combines sample management, administration, client service, and laboratory coordination. You will be responsible for ensuring the accurate registration and processing of samples, supporting laboratory operations, and providing exceptional service to internal and external clients.

Responsibilities Include:

- Register and process sample submissions accurately within a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
- Review Chain of Custody documentation, quotations, and client instructions.
- Coordinate sample receipt, distribution, and outsourced testing activities.
- Prepare and issue analytical reports and supporting data to clients.
- Respond to client enquiries regarding testing services, results, and work progress.
- Perform general administrative duties, including client set-ups, invoice processing, and report amendments.




- Assist with workload planning and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support and mentor recent team members as required.

Ideally you will have:

- A diploma or higher qualification in a science-related field (preferred).
- Previous experience in a laboratory, scientific, environmental, food, or pharmaceutical environment.
- Strong administration, customer service, and communication skills.
- A high attention to detail and excellent organisational abilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Outlook, and Word.
- Experience with SampleManager or other LIMS platforms (highly regarded).
- Ability to work effectively in a team and manage competing priorities.
