High Street Underwriting Agency – Brisbane QLD

ColumnZero are looking to hire a skilled PHP developer with some industry experience to join our development team, located in either Brisbane CBD, or Brendale in Brisbane's north. ColumnZero currently operates a hybrid working workplace, with office space available at both locations.

ColumnZero is a software development company specialising in building platforms for insurance underwriters to push boundaries and modernise the industry. We work directly with business leaders across our parent and sister companies to keep our custom-built Insurance Portal ahead of the game, servicing insurance brokers across Australia.

What you'll do:

Enhance, update and maintain our propietary insurance portal

Keep our codebase up to date with modern PHP concepts and structure

Develop and refine internal platforms and tools

Gain a solid understanding of the insurance industry

Collaborate with stakeholders, underwriters and operations staff to design practical, business-driven solutions

What we're looking for:





At least 3 years of PHP industry experience, ideally in an insurance, fintech, or compliance-heavy environment

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment

Good communication skills to liaise and collaborate with team members, department heads and stakeholders

Familiarity with a GIT-based workflow

A solid understanding of REST APIs, relational databases and secure coding practices

Experience with MySQL database systems

Australian work rights are essential for this position
