Casual Medical Receptionist – Specialist Practice | South Brisbane

We are seeking a reliable, enthusiastic, and technology-savvy Medical Receptionist to join our busy specialist practice on a casual basis. This role supports a busy specialist surgeon consulting from the Mater Private Clinics in South Brisbane.

Initially, this position will involve approximately 3 days per week (Monday and Friday availability essential), along with holiday and leave coverage. There is potential for increased hours in the coming months for the right candidate.

About You

- Minimum 2 years' experience in a specialist medical practice
- Strong ability to work in a busy, quick-paced environment
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Strong computer and technology skills
- Typing speed of 75+ words per minute




- High attention to detail and ability to multitask
- Knowledge of Medicare and Private Health Fund billing

Key Responsibilities

- Diary management of appointments and surgery bookings
- Meeting and greeting patients
- Maintaining patient records within a paperless practice environment
- Managing incoming phone calls, emails, and electronic correspondence
- Coordination of theatre, operation, and equipment bookings
