In-Home Disability Support Worker (Contractor)

Warhorse Disability Support Services is seeking a compassionate and dedicated In-Home Disability Support Worker to join our team on a Sub-contract basis. This is a crucial role that will see you providing essential support and assistance to a Male client in their own home, enabling them to live as independently as possible while maintaining their dignity and quality of life. Based in Campbelltown NSW 2560, you will be at the heart of delivering person-centred care that makes a real difference to the lives of vulnerable members of our community. This Sub-contract position offers flexibility and the opportunity to work within a supportive organisation that values compassion, respect and genuine commitment to disability support.

Key responsibilities

Provide personal care assistance including hygiene, grooming, dressing and toileting support as per individual care plans

Assist with daily living activities such as meal preparation, cooking and nutrition management

Help with household tasks including cleaning, laundry and general home maintenance to create a safe and comfortable living environment

Provide mobility assistance and support with physical activities, ensuring safe manual handling practices are always followed

Accompany clients to medical appointments, community activities and social outings to promote independence and social inclusion

Support clients with medication management and encourage adherence to health routines as outlined in care plans

Maintain accurate and timely documentation of support provided and any changes in client wellbeing or circumstances

Communicate effectively with clients,



their families and the wider support team to ensure coordinated and consistent care delivery

Respect client privacy, dignity and rights whilst maintaining qualified boundaries at all times

Respond to client needs with empathy and patience, adapting your approach to individual preferences and requirements

What we're looking for

A valid Certificate III or higher in Disability Support, Aged Care or related qualification, or demonstrated equivalent experience in disability or care support

Current Working with Children Check (WWC) clearance, NDIS Worker Check and National Police Clearance

Current First Aid and CPR certification

Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build trusting relationships with clients and families

A genuine passion for supporting people with disabilities and a person-centred approach to care

Physical fitness and ability to assist with manual handling, mobility and personal care tasks safely

Reliability, punctuality and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team

Demonstrated understanding of disability rights, dignity of risk and promoting client independence

Problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing client needs and circumstances

Current driver's licence and access to reliable transport is desirable for this role

Previous experience with Spinal Cord Injuries, Bowel Care, Catheter Care and Pressure Care.

Hours of care required:

6am-8.30am x2 workers Monday to Sunday
8.30am-10am x1 worker Monday to Sunday
12pm-3pm x1 worker Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday
