We’re on the lookout for an HR Waste Truck Driver ready to lock in local work and be part of a no-nonsense, hard-working crew.

The waste industry is considered essential services, meaning consistent work year-round in all types of weather.

Key Duties

- Operating rear lift / side lift / front lift waste trucks
- Completing daily pre-start safety checks and logbooks
- Following allocated routes and collection schedules
- Emptying bins using hydraulic lifting equipment
- Maintaining secure driving practices in suburban streets and tight access areas
- Basic cleaning and care of the vehicle
- Communicating with dispatch regarding route updates or issues

Typical Day

- Early morning depot start
- Pre-start inspection and toolbox talk
- 6–10 hour shifts depending on run volume
- Combination of driving and operating bin lifts
- Return to depot, wash down if required,



clock off and home daily

Work Environment

- Outdoor role in all weather conditions
- Mix of independent driving and team interaction at depots
- Physical but not heavy manual lifting (machinery does most of the work)
- Fast-paced mornings, steadier afternoons

Ideal Candidate

- Confident driving HR vehicles in urban areas with 2-3 years experience
- Comfortable with early starts (often 4–6am)
- Good awareness of pedestrians, cyclists, and tight streets
- Able to pass a pre-employment medical and criminal history check
- Reliable attendance and time management
- Positive attitude toward safety and teamwork
- Perfect role for drivers wanting routine, security, and zero long-haul travel.

Compensation

There is a 3 month probation period at an hourly pay rate of $38.98p/h then sizeable hourly rate increase to $55.26p/h + Penalties + Superannnuation. This is for your hard work,dedication and loyalty.
