Mitchell Services (MSV) is growing across our Surface and Underground Divisions and we’re looking for motivated, safety-focused candidates ready to take the next step into a Trainee Underground Diamond Driller role with the look to move to a driller 1 level quickly.
This opportunity is ideal for candidates with previous drilling or offsider experience who are ready for more responsibility, hands‑on learning, and career progression with one of Australia’s leading drilling contractors.

- 14/14 or 14/7 roster options
- FIFO from Brisbane Airport or agreed major airport, or DIDO within an acceptable distance to our sites.
- Full-time role with competitive pay & bonus opportunities. Initially offered as a maximum term contract, with the potential for extension subject to business needs.

About the Role
Working alongside experienced Underground or Surface Diamond Drillers, you’ll gain valuable hands‑on experience while supporting safe and productive drilling operations.
This is a development role designed to help you progress your career within drilling.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct pre-start checks and maintain equipment standards
- Help minimise tooling damage and down‑hole loss
- Accurately assist with core handling, markup and orientation
- Identify and report hazards, incidents and maintenance issues
- Maintain a strong focus on safety and teamwork
What We’re Looking For
- Previous drilling, mining or offsider experience
- HR Licence (surface applicants) or Manual Open Driver’s Licence (underground applicants)
- Ability to obtain First Aid/CPR and National Police Clearance
- Physically fit with the ability to pass a functional assessment
- Strong work ethic, positive attitude and willingness to learn
