Haulage Operations Coordinator – Heavy Haulage / OSOM (Hybrid Opportunity)

Peter Tippett Haulage now known as PTH Low Loaders are seeking an experienced Haulage Operations Coordinator with a strong background in heavy haulage and Oversize/Overmass (OSOM) movements to join our growing transport and civil operations team.

This role is suited to a coordinator who understands the complexities of OSOM logistics, including permits, route planning, escorts, and compliance, and who can confidently manage multiple high-risk movements in a fast-paced environment.

This role is suited to a coordinator who understands the complexities of OSOM logistics, including permits, route planning, escorts, and compliance, and who can confidently manage multiple high-risk movements in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Plan, schedule, and coordinate heavy haulage and OSOM movements across civil and infrastructure projects
- Allocate prime movers, trailers, drivers, and subcontractors based on load and permit requirements
- Coordinate OSOM permits, route assessments, pilot/escort vehicles, and traffic management
- Liaise closely with NHVR, state road authorities, escort providers, and traffic control companies




- Act as the primary point of contact for drivers during complex movements
- Monitor live operations and proactively manage delays, incidents, or route constraints
- Ensure strict compliance with HVNL, Chain of Responsibility (CoR), fatigue management, and company WHS systems
- Maintain accurate records including permits, route plans, run sheets, dockets, and compliance documentation
- Support incident investigations and continuous improvement initiatives
- Quote, estimate, and scope OSOM transport jobs, including non-standard or “out-of-the-box” movements
- Build and maintain strong client relationships through proactive communication and tailored transport solutions

About You

- Demonstrated experience coordinating heavy haulage / OSOM transport operations
- Strong working knowledge of HVNL, CoR obligations, and NHVR permit processes
- Proven ability to plan and execute complex movements safely and efficiently
- Experience quoting and estimating OSOM jobs, including innovative solutions for challenging loads
- Confident communicator able to liaise with drivers, project teams, clients, and regulators
- Highly organised, detail-focused, and calm under pressure
- Competent with transport management systems and Microsoft Office

Highly Regarded:

- Experience within civil construction or major infrastructure projects
- Established relationships with permit authorities or escort providers
- Certificate IV in Transport & Logistics or similar qualification
