Rex J Andrews Pty Ltd is a leading manufacturer of specialised heavy haulage trailers, proudly designing, building and maintaining equipment for the Australian transport industry for over 35 years.

We're looking for a motivated and experienced Machinist to join our workshop team in Penrith.

About the Role

Working in our well-equipped machine shop, you'll manufacture and repair precision components used in the production and maintenance of heavy haulage trailers. You'll work closely with our fabrication and mechanical teams to ensure high-quality workmanship and efficient turnaround times.

Responsibilities

- Set up and operate CNC lathes and other workshop machining centers
- Manufacture components from engineering drawings
- Repair and modify existing parts
- Measure and inspect finished components to ensure accuracy
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe work environment




- Work collaboratively with the workshop team to meet production deadlines

About You

To be successful in this role you'll have:

- G Code knowledge and programming
- Experience operating manual machining equipment
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Solid attention to detail and pride in producing quality work
- Good problem-solving skills
- A strong commitment to workplace safety
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Desirable (but not essential)

- Trade qualification in Engineering (Mechanical Trade) or similar
- Experience in heavy vehicle, manufacturing or engineering industries
- Forklift licence
