Supporting the Sporlan Division of Parker Hannifin, a recognised leader in innovative solutions for HVAC and refrigeration systems. With more than 90 years of industry experience, Sporlan designs and manufactures high-quality components including refrigerant valves, filters, and electronic controls that improve system performance, reliability, and efficiency.

This role is based out of our head office in Castle Hill, NSW.

About the role

We are seeking a highly skilled HVAC Technical Advisor to provide advanced remote diagnostics, programming, and technical support for HVAC/R, refrigeration, lighting, energy, and related building automation systems. This role serves as a critical technical resource for customers, sales, customer service, R&D;, integration teams, and internal technical support groups across the U.S. and Canada for out of hours assistance.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience with electronic controls, HVAC/R processes, CO2 refrigeration, chemical systems, glycol controls, and system sequence of operation. This individual will be able to diagnose complex field issues, recommend effective control strategies, tune PID loops, stabilise systems, and support both pre-sales and post-sales technical needs.

Key responsibilities

Perform remote diagnostics, troubleshooting, and technical support for electronic controls and HVAC/R process systems.

Configure, monitor,



and support BMS and/or PLC platforms used to control and optimise HVAC and refrigeration system performance.

Provide expert guidance on CO2, chemical, and glycol control sequences, including PID tuning and system stabilisation.

Program, modify, and support HVAC/R, lighting, energy, and related subsystems through remote and offsite programming.

Troubleshoot and develop custom block diagrams and support integration across building automation and industrial communication protocols.

Train and mentor technical support team members across the U.S. and Canada.

Serve as a technical bridge between R&D;, Technical Support, Integration, Sales, Customer Service, and customers.

Provide pre-sales and post-sales support, including product sizing, part selection, CAD/drawing support, startup assistance, diagnostics, and field issue resolution.

Analyse customer issues, competitive products, and identify opportunities to support product improvement and response strategies.

Track activities, prepare timely reports, support customer communication programs, and contribute to lean and high-performance team initiatives.

Requirements

3-5 years technical experience.

Demonstrated experience across BMS, HVAC, building controls, or automation systems.

Experience leading, mentoring, or providing technical support to teams.

Practical knowledge of system installations, commissioning support, and controls engineering.

Strong analytical, reporting,



and troubleshooting capabilities.

Excellent communication skills with a strong focus on customer service and stakeholder support.

Highly organised, detail-focused, and able to work independently.

Capable of balancing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, changing environment.

Collaborative relationship builder with a practical, solutions‑oriented approach.

Additional Experience (Preferred)

BDM experience preferred.

Prior experience working with supermarket refrigeration systems.
