About the role

The Integrated Fleet Support Officer at FCC Cardiff plays a key role in supporting Australian Railway Network 24/7. In this role, you will act as a technical liaison working closely with Progress Rail maintenance teams and external customers to ensure minimal locomotive down time and support to the railway network.

You will be responsible for providing first-line locomotive troubleshooting, entering and reviewing data within asset management systems, reviewing locomotive health, coordinating in‑field repairs and assist with asset recovery as required.

Responsibilities of the Position

- Acting as First-point-of contact to provide instant support to locomotive train crew and customer stakeholders
- Conducting fault identification, mitigation, troubleshooting and daily reporting across the relevant customer locomotive fleets stakeholders
- Collaborate with Operations and Engineering teams to provide best practice triage and technical support
- Monitor and review daily locomotive fleet health performance via remote conditioning monitoring platforms
- Communicating corrective maintenance fleet performance issues and real‑time updates to internal and external stakeholders
- Contributing to failure investigations to continuously improve fleet availability and reliability




- Support short-term scheduling activities within Progress Rail Operations
- Work collaboratively within a highly experienced team in a 24/7 rotating shift roster environment

About You

- Trade or engineering qualification with proven technical expertise
- Strong commitment to safety in all aspects of work
- Ability to work a 24/7 shift dynamic roster and travel for training when required
- Proactive and adaptable, with the ability to reprioritise tasks quickly
- Confident in making operational decisions that impact stakeholders
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including report writing and investigations
- Methodical approach to troubleshooting and problem‑solving
- Experience in conflict resolution within a team environment
- Proficient in using asset management systems and IT tools
