Modern Security Services is a proudly South Australian-owned electronic security company specialising in commercial and local government security systems, with supporting domestic work where required.
We are seeking a Junior Security Technician who is genuinely interested in becoming a qualified, on-the-tools electronic security installer. This role is ideal for someone at the early stage of their technical security career who wants structured mentoring, hands-on experience and long-term career development.
⚠️ Important:
This is a field-based, hands-on role. You will be working on-site assisting with the installation and commissioning of electronic security systems. This is not a guarding, monitoring or office-based role.
What You’ll Be Doing (On the Tools)
- Assist with the installation, servicing and maintenance of electronic security systems including:
- Inner Range Integrity
- Concept
- NX Witness
- Avigilon
- Support senior technicians on-site with cable runs, device installation and system setup
- Learn system programming, commissioning and fault-finding under supervision
- Assist with job preparation, materials and site setup
- Complete job notes, documentation and reporting using SimPRO
- Communicate professionally with clients, supervisors and team members
- Follow safety procedures and site requirements at all times
Essential Requirements
- Current South Australian Security Installer’s Licence (or actively obtaining)
- Australian Driver’s Licence
- White Card
- Genuine interest in electronic security installation as a long-term career
- Willingness to learn, take instruction and work as part of a team
- Basic hand tools (specialist tools provided)
Desirable (But Not Essential)
- Cabler’s Registration (or willingness to obtain)
- Some exposure to security systems, electrical, data or technical trades
- Experience working on construction or commercial sites
